TARTARIC ACID
CHARACTERISTICS
Tartaric acid is widely distributed in nature and known as the fruit acid due to its presence in most of them, with the form tartaric acid L(+). Natural tartaric acid is produced with marc and lees from the wine industry.
USES
Industrial uses for tartaric acid include:
- Wine acidifier, carbonated drinks, jams and jellies.
- Saline purgative and buffering agent used in effervescent powder and tablets.
- Metal cleaning and polishing, photography applications, for making tartrate salts and as cement and casts retardant.
INSTRUCTIONS
Previously dissolved in wine or water, it is added to the wine or product to be acidified during pumping over, to ensure its consistency.
DOSAGE
Maximum legal dose 2.5 g/l
STORAGE AND PRESENTATION
Store in a cool, airy place.
